Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka thanked China leader Xi Jinping during a meeting in Beijing on September 2 for Chinese investments and loans to Belarus, stressing that the current cooperation between both countries is «increasingly vibrant,» according to Belarus’s state-run news agency BelTA.
Lukashenka is on a short visit to Beijing to attend ceremonies connected with the 70th anniversary of the ending of World War II.
BelTA reports that last month Lukashenka signed a «directive» on the development of relations between Belarus and China. In particular, the document provides for increasing Belarusian exports to China to $1.5 billion annually by 2020.
Lukashenka ordered to create centers of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese gymnastics in every regional capital of Belarus by 2018. He also wants to organize a joint tourist company and add a Chinese-language version to the official site of the Republic of Belarus.
